自1999年以來(lái),南視覺(jué)美術(shù)館(RCM ART MUSEUM)的前身紅色經(jīng)典藝術(shù)館、經(jīng)典畫(huà)廊就致力于把自己的發(fā)展跟中國(guó)當(dāng)代藝術(shù)的本土化進(jìn)程聯(lián)系起來(lái)。繼2000年成功舉辦“新中國(guó)畫(huà)大展”之后,2002年又獨(dú)資承辦了中國(guó)第一個(gè)三年展——首屆中國(guó)藝術(shù)三年展。之后,南視覺(jué)美術(shù)館著力于全面推出生于七十年代的青年藝術(shù)家,“未來(lái)考古學(xué):第二屆中國(guó)藝術(shù)三年展”的舉辦及其產(chǎn)生的巨大影響,成為這一戰(zhàn)略思路的最好體現(xiàn)。兩屆三年展的舉辦使南視覺(jué)美術(shù)館逐步完善了“另一種”三年展模式:一、就主體而言,它是民間機(jī)構(gòu)投資的三年展;二、就內(nèi)容而言,它是中國(guó)當(dāng)代藝術(shù)的三年展;三、就地點(diǎn)而言,它是一個(gè)漂流的三年展。
此外,中國(guó)獨(dú)立影像年度展、中國(guó)紀(jì)錄片交流周已經(jīng)成為南視覺(jué)美術(shù)館的常設(shè)項(xiàng)目。這些大型展覽的策劃和運(yùn)作表明,在國(guó)內(nèi)為數(shù)眾多的獨(dú)立藝術(shù)空間中,南視覺(jué)美術(shù)館超越了展館的空間限制以及功能限制,被賦予了新的含義——它一直是以一個(gè)積極的獨(dú)立主體,在較高的平臺(tái)上參與和推動(dòng)著中國(guó)當(dāng)代藝術(shù)機(jī)制的建設(shè),并正在通過(guò)自身的努力逐步向更高的水準(zhǔn)發(fā)展。
目前,位于南京市北京西路72號(hào)的新址,正在進(jìn)行大規(guī)模改造的南視覺(jué)美術(shù)館,將更加適宜當(dāng)代藝術(shù)的展示和交流。到2006年,新址所在的南京2021藝術(shù)區(qū)將建成為中國(guó)長(zhǎng)江三角洲最重要的獨(dú)立藝術(shù)區(qū)之一。
Brief introduction RCM
Since 1999,RCM,following its predecessors of Classical Red Gallery and Classical gallery,has been devoting itself to linking its own development with the process of Chinese contemporary arts.After the success of “Exhibition of Neo-Chinese Painting ”held in Shanghai and Nanjing in 2000,RCM initisted the first Chinese triennial exhibition- the 1 st Trienial of Chinese Art Guangzhou with its sole investment.Since then,the seldom-used Carpet method (selecting art pieces throughout all galleries)which was adopted in the preparation of the “Archeology of the Future; the Exhibition of the 2nd Triennial of Chinese Arts”extended great influence in contemporary Chinese art arena through the way of both the process and the final exhibition and publishing.The holding of these two exhibitions has been gradually setting up a new exhibition mode-“the Alienated Genre”:1.It is an exhibition invested by non-governmet institute.2.It is the exhibition of contemporary Chinese arts.3.It is a mobile exhibition.
And the Annual exhibition of the independent films and the Exchange Week of the Chinese Documentary have become the regular activities of the RCM.Some multi-fields and trans-media activities have gained great attention of RCM.All these great exhibition and operation express clearly that among numerous demostic independent art facilities,RCMhas broken the limits of both space and function of a gallery and has been granted a brand-new implication.Serving as and active independent entity,RCM has always been participating and promoting the construction of contemporary Chinese Art mechanism and it spares no enhance itself to higher level. A large-scale documentary film,Sailing in the Ocean-A Journey to Chinese Contempary Art,invested by RCM and directed by famous directed by famous director Wang xiaoshuai is on the way of shooting.This will be the firest histoty of Chinese contemporary art in video form. On July 29th,we will hold the Exhibition of Chinese Inkpainting Literature in Nanjing which will summarize the inkpainting achievement of China since the beginning of reform and opening-up drive.
June 2006,the new building of RCM designed by famous architector,ZhangLei,in West Beijing road 72#Bld NO.1 was formally established.
