思萊德畫廊成立于2007年進駐798大山子藝術區(qū)。這一區(qū)域在短短的兩年時間里攫升為國內最大、最具國際影響力的藝術區(qū)。

    閑置廠房經(jīng)改造后，本身成為新的建筑藝術品，在歷史文脈與發(fā)展范式之間、實用與審美之間與廠區(qū)的舊有建筑展保持了完美的對話。

    “ 798 藝術區(qū)”所形成的具有國際化色彩的“ Soho 式藝術區(qū)”和“ Loft 生活方式”，已經(jīng)引起了海內外的廣泛關注。

    在這里，當代藝術、建筑空間、文化產(chǎn)業(yè)與歷史文脈及城市生活環(huán)境的有機結合使“ 798 ”演化為一個極具活力的中國當代文化與生活的嶄新模式，對各類專業(yè)人士及普通公眾產(chǎn)生了前所未有的強大吸引力，并在城市文化和生存空間的觀念方面產(chǎn)生了前瞻性影響。

    作為當代中國的文化藝術中心，北京一直都吸引著全世界的目光，兩年之間，全球重大的藝術機構陸續(xù)入駐北京，798也成為他們不二的選擇。

    繼奧運會之后，798內的藝術機構相繼在時尚領域也有所突破。尤倫斯當代藝術中心與藝術家和DIOR的合作，JOY與法拉利的合作，引來了國內不少知名人士和娛樂圈人士的關注。這也為思萊德畫廊提供了一個絕佳的藝術經(jīng)營環(huán)境和舞臺，畫廊將繼續(xù)發(fā)展并推動中國當代新銳藝術家的藝術創(chuàng)作，同時也繼續(xù)保持和發(fā)展與已經(jīng)在藝術領域成熟的藝術家的合作，我們從商業(yè)領域走出來，回避藝術商業(yè)化的問題，只懷揣著對藝術的向往和執(zhí)著精心制作每一次展覽與發(fā)布會。

    思萊德畫廊的功能與角色并非只是一間普通的展示中心，它實際上是一間專門從事藝術活動展示與策劃，對有潛力藝術家發(fā)掘和培養(yǎng)，對藝術發(fā)展進行研究與開發(fā)，是中國當代國際藝術體系的多功能藝術機構。我們定期舉辦各類藝術展覽和表演以及發(fā)布活動，發(fā)行藝術出版物，舉辦學術交流，為機構和企業(yè)及個人藝術品收藏者提供藝術前導性的咨詢。
